Hooover Fire Department Recruit School Graduation

The Hoover Fire Department held a graduation ceremony for the recruit academy of 2015 on Tuesday, November 17th. The ceremony was held at the Public Safety Center at 2020 Valleydale Road at 10:00am. Recruits graduating were from Hoover, Warrior, Forestdale, North Shelby , Orange Beach, Indian Ford , Vestavia and Demopolis Fire Departments. The recruits went through nine weeks of rigorous training involving firefighting, hazardous materials, rope rescue, vehicle extrication, fire prevention and search & rescue operations. Academics played a large part with the recruits taking 25 end of chapter exams during the academy and the final comprehensive exam administered by the Alabama State Fire College.
