Today, members of the Hoover Fire Department participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Lake Towne Wharf in Panama City Beach, Florida. Over 500 firefighters from fire departments across the south participated in the event. The stair climb is done in remembrance of the fallen firefighters who climbed the stairs at the World Trade Center to save others on September 11, 2001. This is the 15th anniversary of this tragic event. Hoover firefighters attending the event are Battalion Chief Clay Bentley, Captain Tim Lawson, Lieutenants Marc Berry and Joseph Harbarger, Firefighter/Paramedics Scott Watkins, Andrew Ogle, Cody Cothron, and Mike Prisoc, and their families.
